Quebec Investor Program

Quebec’s Regulation defines an ‘Investor’ as:

1. A foreign national at least 18 years old.
2. Having net assets of $1.6 million CAD, alone or with his accompanying spouse or de facto spouse, excluding any amount received in donation six months prior to filing the application.
3. Having experience in the management of a legal professional, industrial, farming, government, or international agency; where the staff occupies an equivalent of two full-time jobs.
4. Has the intention of investing when he comes to Quebec according to the provisions of the Regulation.

The investor must also meet the following criteria:

1. Signed an investment agreement, with the commitment to invest $800,000CAD over a period of five years.
2. Qualifies under the selection criteria and attains the passing score.
3. Having two years of management experience not less than five years before filing the application. This experience should be in the capacity of planning, controlling, and managing financial, human, and material resources under one’s authority and not under a training, apprenticeship, or diploma period.

Highlights of the Quebec Investor’s Program:

1. Minimum Investment- $800,000 CAD (Financing available)
2. Investment Period- Five years
3. Interest on the investment- 0%
4. Withdrawals- Not Permitted.
5. Guarantee- The investment is guaranteed by a five-year term and payable to the order of the investor in $800,000 CAD issued by IQ Immigrant Investisseurs Inc. fully and unconditionally guaranteed by the Government of Quebec.
6. Financial Intermediary- A fully approved institution by the Quebec Immigration Department.
7. Financing Option- Available. It helps investors to participate in the program by borrowing an amount (subject to certain conditions) while still meeting the other requirements of the program.
