Upasana Sharma is a Barrister, Solicitor and Notary Public licensed to practice law in the province of Ontario. Upasana Sharma joined Nanda and Associate Lawyers as an Associate in 2018. She practices in the areas of Immigration Law and Family Law.
Prior to joining Nanda Lawyers, Upasana Sharma worked as an Associate Lawyer with the Bay Street Law Firm Lerners LLP. Her legal practice focused on negotiations and mediations as well as representing her clients in courts. She worked as a junior counsel on several high-profile cases. She has significant experience in the preparation and negotiations of domestic contracts, pleadings, mediation briefs and motion materials.
Upasana Sharma has previously also worked with the downtown litigation boutique Epstein Cole LLP and with the Ministry of the Attorney General, Office of the Children’s Lawyer (OCL). In addition, she has worked in the international development sector and with quasi-governmental bodies in Ontario.
Upasana Sharma is a MacArthur Foundation Scholar and graduated from the University of Toronto, Masters of Law (LLM) program in 2006 and the University of Toronto, Certificate in Project Management in 2008. In 2012, she completed her National Committee on Accreditation courses at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law and obtained her Certificate of Qualification. She was actively involved with the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law’s pro bono clinics during her legal education. Upasana Sharma was called to the Ontario Bar in 2013.
Upasana Sharma is also a Gold Medalist in the Master of Laws (LLM)program at the University of Pune, India. She practiced law in India before moving to Canada.
